Mistral AI has renamed Le Chat to Vibe, repositioning it from a standalone chatbot into a unified agent platform built around three modes:
- Vibe Chat – the original turn-based conversational experience.
- Vibe Work – delegates multi-step tasks across connected business apps (Google Workspace, GitHub, Outlook, SharePoint, Slack), letting users review a task plan before it runs.
- Vibe Code – developer-focused coding sessions that run in isolated cloud sandboxes, so a job can keep going even if the local machine goes offline. It's available via a VS Code extension, CLI, and the web, with support for skills, subagents, and a "/teleport" feature for handing off work between chat, terminal, and editor.
Existing accounts carry over automatically — same login, same URL (chat.mistral.ai), with all prior conversations, plans, and saved content intact.
Pricing: Free, Pro ($14.99/month), Team ($24.99/user/month, adds admin controls like domain verification and data export), Enterprise (custom), plus a $5.99/month student plan.
With Vibe, Mistral is betting that bundling office automation and coding into one product — rather than splitting them across separate tools — is a stronger position against competitors who treat one of those two as an afterthought.
